Project description

A farmer raising organic "Cocorette"-certified laying hens aims to enhance the well-being of his poultry by incorporating trees onto the farm. Understanding the multiple benefits that trees offer to animals, he plans to plant a single hedgerow surrounding a plot, as well as intra-plot hedgerows. These additions will encourage hens to explore more freely, reduce stress from wind exposure, and provide cover from aerial predators.

Half of the plot will also be transformed into a pre-orchard with fruit-bearing species, allowing the farmer to harvest fruit while creating a more pleasant environment for the poultry. Certain trees will also be utilized for quality timber, generating additional income. This project blends animal welfare, agricultural production, and sustainable profitability while supporting biodiversity.
