Project description
In a farm currently leased to conventional farmers, the owner, who is in the process of obtaining agricultural status, plans to take over the management of his land and convert it to organic farming. This change will be accompanied by the implementation of agroecological practices aimed at restoring soil fertility and promoting sustainable resource management.
Having already planted hedgerows in the previous two years, the farmer will continue the reconstitution of the farm's hedgerow network by planting a new double hedgerow. This hedgerow will help improve biodiversity by providing a habitat for local wildlife while promoting ecological interactions between crops and beneficial species.
Furthermore, these hedgerows will play a strategic role in protecting the land from increasing urban pressures. Located near the city of Cesson-Sévigné, the farm faces rapid urban expansion. The installation of these hedgerows will thus create a natural barrier against the artificialization of agricultural land, contributing to the preservation of these spaces for sustainable farming.
