Project description
In Finistère, a farmer managing 60 dairy cows, primarily of the Normande breed, operates a farm largely based on a grazing system supplemented by cereal production. Committed to transitioning toward organic farming, he is implementing several initiatives aimed at enhancing the sustainability of his farm and the well-being of his animals.
The project includes the planting of three simple hedgerows along field edges. These hedgerows will play a crucial role in regulating the microclimate by providing natural protection against winds and creating shaded areas for the cows, thereby contributing to their well-being. Additionally, the farmer plans to plant a 0.2-hectare grove in a poor soil area, enhancing local biodiversity and optimizing land use.
This initiative aligns with a broader agroecological approach, aiming to strengthen the resilience of the farm while fostering a healthier environment for the animals and preserving natural resources.
