Project description
In Côtes d’Armor, a property owner, currently establishing a horse boarding facility, aims to enhance one of his plots by developing an arboriculture project. This initiative includes the creation of a low-density orchard over an area of 0.4 hectares, combining fruit production with respect for the surrounding ecosystem. A double hedgerow on a berm will be established to protect the fruit trees from pesticide drift from neighboring plots.
This hedgerow will also help moderate the microclimate in the area, creating favorable conditions for the orchard's development. In addition to its protective role, it will contribute to local biodiversity by providing habitat for insects and birds.
The project also involves the gradual replacement of an aging thuja hedgerow. By diversifying the species and enhancing the ecological structure of this hedgerow, the goal is to increase its environmental value, improving the quality of local fauna and flora. This approach allows for a harmonious balance between sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and animal welfare, while enhancing the site's resilience to climatic variations.
