Project description

An organic farmer cultivates ancient cereals such as wheat, rye, and spelt. His farm, certified organic, specializes in direct sales of derivative products: flour, bread, and pastries made from his own harvests.

On a recently acquired plot, the farmer plans to plant a hedgerow along the western edge. This multi-layered hedgerow, spanning 365 meters and composed of trees, coppices, and shrubs, will act as a windbreak to mitigate northwesterly winds. It will also enhance the natural drainage of the adjacent ditch and serve as a barrier against litter discarded by motorists.

This planting will provide multiple benefits: protection from wind will facilitate better soil management, while improved drainage will reduce water accumulation on the plot. In addition to its ecological role, the hedgerow will help keep the cultivated land clean, thereby improving productivity and working conditions.
