Project description

A farmer manages a mixed crop and livestock farm on 75 hectares of agricultural land, with a herd of 35 beef cattle and 6 sows. Certified organic since 2010, he has already planted multiple hedges and encourages natural regeneration on certain parts of his land.

This year's project involves planting a 350-meter hedgerow within a cereal field to reduce soil erosion and improve water retention. Two additional hedgerows will be placed along the roadside to shield an organic field from pesticide drift originating from a neighboring conventional farm. These tree-based improvements support soil conservation, crop protection, and biodiversity enhancement, while bolstering the farm's resilience to climate change.
