Project description

A new owner recently acquired an old farm on the grounds of a castle, where he raises a few beef cattle and a dozen sheep across 11 hectares of permanent meadows. To improve animal welfare and promote biodiversity, the project aims to implement three distinct tree-based features.

First, a double hedge will be planted in the center of a plot to separate different areas, creating a microclimate beneficial for the livestock. Additionally, in-field hedgerows will be set up in crop fields to provide animals with shelter from rainy weather.

Finally, a riparian buffer will be established along a watercourse to enhance biodiversity of species adapted to wetland areas while also reducing water pollution. These interventions will not only improve animal living conditions but also help preserve the local environment.
